Welcome to Cavanaghs of Fermoy Cavanaghs of Fermoy was founded in 1919 by Mr. Tom Cavanagh Snr. The Company was awarded the Ford franchise in 1938. Mr Cavanagh’s son – also Tom – succeeded his father and continued to develop the Company. Although now retired from the business Mr Cavanagh continues to maintain a keen interest in the Company. Indeed, he is still affectionally referred to as “the Boss” by some of the longer serving members of staff – including the current managing Director, Sean Barry! In 1997, current Managing Director, Sean Barry led a management buyout of the Company and successfully relocated the Company from Ashe Quay to its current address on the Cork Road in 2000.
